SQUALIDAE-L listserv is designed to facilitate electronic communication among scientists and managers in activities that concern squaloid (especially, but not exclusively, Squalus acanthias) sharks.  Any mail messages sent to the listserve will be redistributed to ALL persons who have joined the list.

To receive messages, you must first subscribe to the list. To subscribe to the list you should send email to the following address:

LISTSERV@Listserv.ecu.edu

 In the body of the email you send to the listserv, type this:

 SUBSCRIBE SQUALIDAE-L your name

If your name were Kris P. Kreme, you would type:

 SUBSCRIBE SQUALIDAE-L Kris Kreme

 Include no other text in the email to the listserv, not even a signature file.  Sometimes HTML code in email confuses the Listserv, so I recommend that you send plain text.  Send your subscription request.  You will receive a reply from the listserv asking you to confirm your subscription. Follow the instructions in that reply and you will be subscribed. You will then receive an informative mailing advising of some of the basics of working with listserv machines.

 
Your subscription request will be forwarded to the list-serv moderators, who will confirm a subscription with you and then add your name.

If you choose to reply to the sender of an email received through the Listserv, YOU MUST CONTACT THAT INDIVIDUAL directly.  You should not hit "reply" to the message because it will be delivered to the whole listserv and not the desired recipient.
